Andrea Bresee Dressage
Developing a number of potential team horses for future games, Andrea continues to accumulate many championships in the National Levels and receive top placings in every CDI she enters. Andrea was listed with DiScansano and was top ten with him for the 2011 Pan Am Trials. Andrea was again listed in 2014 with her own horse Diaz, and spent the winter training and competing in Florida. She is currently competing at Grand Prix with Diaz and a large number of other upper level prospects.
Andrea’s story
Andrea began her riding career at the age of eleven in a small town in Saskatchewan. When she was seventeen she moved to Toronto Ontario to train at an Arabian Farm. For the next five years she gained experience in several disciplines, one of which was dressage. By 1996, she was Canadian Medium Champion. From there, Andrea moved on to train with Olympian Gina Smith at Franklands Farm.
She spent eleven years riding under Gina’s instruction and during that time she had great success at various levels with several different horses. The highlight of this period was the partnership she would build with Raffles, a four year old purchased by Gina Smith and Faith Berghuis as a working student project for Andrea. Andrea and Raffles had numerous CDI top ten placings in the advanced division, and were short listed from 2005 to 2007. In 2007 Andrea and Raffles competed in Rio Brazil as part of the Silver Medal Team at the Pan American Games.
In December of 2007 Andrea started her own business and spent five years at Dunraven Farm owned by Lisa and Ed Kalvoda of the Uxbridge area. Then in December 2012 she relocated to FoxFire Equestrian also in Uxbridge. Part of the Canadian Silver Medal Team, Andrea placed 7th individually.
